J'aime Montreal

I've been taking too long to decide what should I blog about for my FIRST entry here at Blogger.
My sister keeps reminding me I should start blogging ASAP, if not, I'd lose my interest in being a blogger very soon lol, according to her. :S  I used to blog very often a few years ago.. my passion is still here but I somehow lost the motivation... :'0

Anyways, I've been wanting a fresh start in blogging ^^ so here I am!
This is gonna be a photo-heavy post about my trip to Montreal :)))

About two months ago, my brother, Sean and I went to Montreal to visit a friend (he's actually my mom's old friend's son at first :P but of course we became friends). We were lucky enough to stay at his place for 3 days ^^ definately one of the best vacations we've had.

Photos taken from our host's backyard:
Jealous of the amount of space they have lol?
Great place to spend an afternoon and enjoy a read :>

We got the chance to try loads of french food during these few days, since our host, Didi, is French and he's a great cook :D (last time when my cousin and I came to his place, his mom did all the cooking and she's awesome too! I was eating way too much and gaining all those fat, wth :/... just can't stop eating...)
help making keish :) filled with broccoli, goat cheese, cheddar and bacon<3
After we poped it into the oven, Sean and I went ahead and relaxed in the backyard, while we watched our host setting the table for us. Suddenly thought of the song "Be our guest".. :D It's such a joy to be served loool

When Didi took out this...
I thought of the cartoon I just watched a few days ago --> Kronk's New Groove!! (it's a must-watch! Funniest cartoon ever... same as "The emperor's New Groove"... watched it three times and still laughed till death wth xD)
So all I wanna say here is.. Didi looked like the great chef Kronk, offered his signature dish to us..= =
It's super yummm!!
After brunch, we visited old town... the day before, Sean and I said that we'd like to go cycling, and Didi managed to get each of us a bike (two were borrowed from his neighbour) so we biked ALL DAY... gosh... by all day I mean we literally spent at least 6 hours on the bikes :0 and it's freaking tiring!
Still got a smiley face when starting the journey. (looked so dead at the end of the day lol)
Best time of the day: went to the Beer Festival!!
When Didi first mentioned there'd be a beer fest. going on in town, we were so excited, and during the entire morning, we kept reminding him that he HAD TO bring us there! (coz never heard of such kind of festival where you can keep drinking and drinking LOL imagine how cool is that?!)
The atmosphere was awesome, it's crowded with people who cheered constantly :DDD everyone's getting high!
coupons needed for beer-tasting. CAD1 per coupon.

Tried varies types of beer, the best and newest one I remember is the kind with strawberry flavour :P wish I could find in later in stores
Sean's face starts to blush lol (Mine doesn't... is it a good thing though?_?)  I reminded him that we still had to drive... our bikes... (parked outside but at this point I was really tired of biking...main issue is that the seat of my bike was too hard... my ass was freaking in pain wth -.-  needed at least 3 days to get recovered)
Didi said I was going way too slow that my brother and him had to wait for me at some point after every 10 minutes of biking... (I swear I'm not that bad at biking! it's just that the seat is not so comfy to seat on -.-) so at last, Didi bought us ferry tickets so we didn't have to cross the bridge by bike (smart act and thankyou so much!_!).  (omg, I'd faint if I had to cross that bridge... STEEPEST slope ever!)
First time to bike after drinking :D quite cool.. still doing fine :)
* We still had to ride the bikes for another hour after taking the ferry -.- wth
I kept telling them "I'm gonna die in 10 mins"..."I'm dying in 5 mins"... lol very annoying I know.. but I really meant I was gonna die lol
The next day, no more biking ^^ yay
We visited the best university in Canada (by best, here I mean top-ranked) ---McGill.
This museum belongs to McGill University...
Anything related to dinosaur can immediately catche my eyes :)
Used to love dinosaurs when I was a kid >v< those with long necks are my favourite! (coz I thought I could slide along their necks -.-... you know... kids.. full of imagination/nonsense lol)
A real mummy :S
Also saw some animal mummies... e.g. the emperors' beloved pet cats were lucky enough to get wrapped and buried after death -3-.
Dined in this vegetarian restaurant for lunch.
curry
lasagna<3<3<3 it's so good but I prefer lasagna with minced beef :P

Went hiking afterwards.
A side story: After going uphill for about 20 mins, I started to get tired (as always lol) and speeded down. Didi asked if I need some water, then he opened his backpack... holy moly! inside were 6 big bottles of iced-cold water that he prepared for us! (touched > <) He was carrying so much weight without complaining while I, carrying nothing, kept asking when were we gonna take a rest -.- (ashamed :S)
resting by a pond and Sean spotted out this girl coz he thought she looks like me -0- and I agreed... such a weird feeling to look at her lol
The only picture taken with our host, Didi ^^ he's amazing and arranged everything for us: from transportation to food; from entertainment to accomodation. We just couldn't ask for more :)) Mercibeaucoup!
Sean and I reading bed time stories lol once in a life-time

P/S I tried to recall the french I learnt from 1st year french courses... but sadly I've already forgotten 80% of the words and tenses that I spent days and nights memorizing!
It's a pain in the ass to learn a 3rd language... (actually, 4th. If mandarin is count as my 3rd lol). But french is such a beautiful language, I recommand everyone to learn some:)

Impossible to record every moment we spent there, but I might add more pictures later :))
